On May 11 at 6:30 p.m. (May 12 at 08:30 a.m. in Australia) Admiral (r) Julio Leiva, president of the AthenaLab Advisory Board, presented a vision of the Chilean perspective on the Indo-Pacific at The Indo Pacific Sea Power Conference 2022 ( IP22) organized by the Royal Australian Navy.
In this version, the conference dealt with the “Indo-Pacific Maritime Dominance in the 21st Century: A Common Purpose” that included issues of geopolitics, maritime security and the maritime ecosystem in the Indo-Pacific, the “Grey Zone”, and the importance of cooperative and collaborative regional associations in the Indo-Pacific.
In this line, the president of the Advisory Board gave a vision from Chile on the Indo-Pacific, the relationship with Australia, the protection of the seas, the need for alliances and how maritime countries such as Chile can use the oceans for their purposes.
